In May 2014 India witnessed the biggest global election. With more than 815 million voters eligible to vote the election marked a new period for India – politically and economically.
The new Government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has moved swiftly in driving economic growth, creating a conducive climate for investment and positioning India as a key actor within the global economy. In their first bilateral engagement, Prime Minister Modi met with South African President Jacob Zuma, on the side-lines of the BRICS summit at Fortaleza Brazil.
Both heads of state expressed their commitment to driving the trade and investment profile between South Africa and India. A key component of this is regular interaction between government and business. The High Commission of India in South Africa, the Consulate General of India in Johannesburg and the Confederation of Indian Industry present a seminar on enhancing India-South Trade and Investment partnerships. This seminar forms part of the Festival of India 2014 being celebrated to mark 20 years of India-South Africa diplomatic relations and 20 years of democracy in South Africa.
Join us as we bring together key industry players and unpack trade and investment opportunities in India.
